About the Artist

Hey, I’m Lidija! I’m a mixed-media visionary artist based out of Baltimore, Maryland. I was born and raised in Idaho and was blessed to call the Sawtooth Mountains my backyard for 17 years. Snowboarding atop the mountains is my happy place.

I've been an artist since I was a toddler.

My parents enrolled me in art classes around 4 years old and that's where my passion was born. I still remember the tall metal stools and the murals all over the walls. My first art teacher taught me never to say "I can't" when it came to creating art. For a small town girl, getting to create whatever my mind could come up with was an exhilarating experience.

My creative spirit only grew as I got older.  Flash forward to my adolescence and you could find me sewing formal dresses from scratch in my basement or covering the carpet with acrylic paint and hot glue.

I went to University of Maryland and studied Marketing because I always knew I wanted my own brand and socially-conscious business.

After creating for 20+ years and showing my art to only my family and closest friends, I decided to take my work public during the pandemic. In 2020 I launched my art Instagram and in 2021 I registered as a sole proprietor. Since then, I've founded my LLC, shipped work all over the country, and sold in person at events all over the DMV ranging from breweries to dubstep festivals.

My first ever vending gig! Connecting with local artists at Phoenix Art Yard in Pigtown, Baltimore in August 2021.

I pour my soul into my art to create beautiful objects for people to treasure in their own homes. My style is inspired by the synchronicities of nature with doses of humor, EDM, and street culture sprinkled throughout.

I have never limited myself to one media because I believe there is so much that needs to be explored. Although recently I have been growing my portfolio in digital illustration, there is truly nothing as therapeutic as making a beautiful mess while painting a skateboard. I'll forever combine all of my favorite mediums and subject matter into unique, surreal pieces of art.

You can follow my social media @lidijaruby.art on Instagram and Facebook for the latest art I'm making as well as details of what I'm up to.
